Eastern Winter Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes hiemalis), Upper Madera Canyon, Pima County

This probable Eastern Winter Wren was discovered and photographed by Laurens Halsey on 01 February 2009 in Madera Canyon along the Super Trail approximately 3/4 mile from the trailhead.

Overall lighter, more brownish (less rufous), lighter throat (particularly the chin) and more whitish spots on scapulars and back than typical on a Pacific Winter Wren, the more common form in Arizona.
