Winter Wren (Troglodytes hiemalis), Hassayampa River Preserve, Maricopa County

This Eastern Winter Wren was discovered and photographed by Tommy DeBardeleben on 11 February 2011 on the Lion Trail at the Hassayampa River Preserve.

The status of this newly split species in Arizona is still unclear, but it appears to be a rare but regular winter visitor.

Winter is separated from Pacific visually by the pale coloring on the throat and breast.
