Cassin's Sparrow (Peucaea cassinii), Near Peach Springs, Mohave CountyThis Cassin's Sparrow was
discovered by Lauren Harter and David Vander Pluym and photographed by David Vander Pluym on 16 July 2011. Likely the first record for Mohave County this bird was one of 3-4 birds singing on the outskirts of Peach Springs. This was part of a larger incursion into northern Arizona and this same day
the observers had another group of 4 nearby as well as singles in Coconino and Yavapai Counties along Highway 66. Streaked crown, pale eye ring, and scaly back. This bird was singing as well.
