Common Grackle (Quiscalus quiscula), Timberline Trail Flagstaff, Coconino County

This Common Grackle was discovered and photographed by Diane Poleyquiva on 09 November 2012 in her backyard. 

There are about 20 accepted records for the state with several more pending. This species has been expanding in New Mexico and may be expected to occur more often in Arizona in the future.

Iridescent blue head contrasting with bronzy back and and wings, stout bill, light eyes.
