Neotropic Cormorant (Phalacrocorax brasilianus), Green Valley Park in Payson, Gila County

This Neotropic Cormorant was photographed by Eric Hough on 17 February 2013

Possibly the first record for the Payson area and further evidence of its continuing range expansion. There are prior Gila County records from Roosevelt and San Carlos Lakes further southeast. Found by Eric Hough and Samantha Dorr (photographed by Eric).

Feathered lores, white border to pointed gular pouch.
