Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula), Pasture Canyon, Tuba City, Coconino County

This Baltimore Oriole was found by Jason Wilder and Chuck LaRue and photographed by Jason Wilder on 16 May 2014

Rare migrant with around 20 accepted records and several pending. May be increasing in recent years.

Adult males are easily separated from Bullock's Oriole by solid black head. The orange corners on the tail are also distinctive, whereas Bullock's Oriole has a black-tipped tails. Hybrids usually have an orange supercillium and more white in the wing coverts.
