Slate-throated Redstart (Myioborus miniatus), South Fork, Cave Creek, Cochise County

This Slate-throated Redstart was found by Chris Charlesworth and photographed by Deanna Mac Phail on 25 April 2014

There are only 7 previously accepted records of this species for Arizona with another pending. This is also the second report from the Chiricahua Mountains this spring.

This species is distinctive with slate gray upperparts, black around the face and throat, red belly, lack of white on the wing, red cap, white on the outer rectrices.
