Tufted Flycatcher (Mitrephanes phaeocercus), Miller Canyon, Cochise County

This Tufted Flycatcher was found and photographed by Charles Trapani on 26 April 2015

This Tufted Flycatcher was photographed about halfway between the gate at the edge of Beatty's property and Split Rock on the Miller Canyon trail. The photos were seen and identified as a Tufted Flycatcher after the bird was reported from nearby Ramsey Canyon.

There are seven prior records of this species for the U.S., three of which are from Arizona.

Unmistakable small flycatcher with cinnamon underparts and a conspicuous crest.
