Leucistic Gambel's Quail (Callipepla gambelii), Scottsdale, Maricopa County

This leucistic Gambel's Quail was found and photographed by Mike Hills on 05 June 2015

This female Gambel's Quail has reduced pigment in most of the plumage, with the exception of the chestnut flank patch. The bird's mate and young appear to have typical plumage. White quail have been noted in the neighborhoods around Orange Tree Golf Club for at least the last 5 years.
