Sandhill Crane (Grus canadensis), Springerville, Apache County

This Sandhill Crane was found by Nick and Connie Worth and photographed by Connie Worth on 31 December 2015

Historically (early 1900's) regular in Apache County and the White Mountain region. In recent years there have been few reports of summering birds or migrants. This may represent a first winter report for the county and region.

Large crane with bright red cap/crown.
