Magnolia Warbler (Setophaga magnolia), Morgan City Wash, Maricopa County

This Magnolia Warbler was found and photographed by Tommy DeBardeleben on 22 September 2016

Casual in Arizona, nearly annual as a migrant or winter visitor.

The tail pattern of Magnolia Warbler is diagnostic at all times, which has bright white undertail coverts with a noticable dark tipped tail. Other field marks are two narrow white wing-bars, a plain greenish back, and a pale gray neckband in the middle of a bright yellow chin and breast continuing down to the lower belly, black streaks on flanks.
