Louisiana Waterthrush (Parkesia motacilla), Canyon Creek at Forest Rd. 358, White Mountain Apache Reservation, Navajo County

This Louisiana Waterthrush was found and photographed by Eric Hough on 20 November 2017

First record for Navajo County. Very sparse winter resident mostly in far southern part of state, casual migrant in other regions and seasons.

Warbler with clean streaking on chest with clean white throat (not densely streaked like Northern Waterthrush), slight tan wash on base color of flanks, blurry flank streaking, broad white supercilium that widens at rear, bright pink-orange legs, longish bill.
