Yellow Grosbeak (Pheucticus chrysopeplus), Clark Crossing, Tubac, Santa Cruz County

This Yellow Grosbeak was found and photographed by Bill Lisowsky on 28 May 2019

A casual summer (May - mid August) visitor to SE Arizona with around 20 records, most of those are in June. It is a frequent "one day wonder" and rarely remains in the same area for long.

This individual shows the characteristic large size, large head, massive gray bill, yellow underparts and head. Also shows white tips on the brown wings.
