Groove-billed Ani (Crotophaga sulcirostris), Arivaca Cienega. Pima County

Groove-billed Ani is a casual visitor to SE Arizona, mainly in the fall, with a number of late spring records. Part of a recent spate of ani sightings in Arizona, this bird was found at Arivaca Cienega on 6/9/06 by Tony Godfrey and Rob & Pat Pearson. This photograph was taken on 6/10/06. Groove-billed Ani is an AZ Bird Committee Review species.
