Red-throated Loon (Gavia stellata), Lake Havasu Site 6, Mohave County

On 2 February 2008 Cindy Radamaker, Dave Powell and Kurt Radamaker found a Red-throated Loon on Lake Havasu, Site 6 overlook. It was photographed by Cindy.  On 6 April, Sean Fitzgerald, Lauren Harter and David Vander Pluym also had a Red-throated Loon at Site 6 and Sean photographed it.  It is unknown if these are the same birds.

Red-throated Loon is casual in Arizona with about a dozen accepted records.  It is an ABC review species.. The ABC requests that reports of these species be accompanied by full details, including when possible, a photo, tape recording, video, or field sketch. Please send documentation to the Arizona Bird Committee via the online form or click here for further instructions and information about ABC. Submission of documentation to AZFO does not constitute submission to the ABC.
