Cackling Goose (Branta hutchinsii), McCormick Ranch Ponds, Scottsdale, Maricopa County

Cackling Goose has recently been split from Canada Goose, hence, little is know of the true status of the "small Canada geese in Arizona. Cackling Goose is an Arizona Bird Committee Review species. The bird photographed here, had a light breast, and according to Paul was probably hutchinsii and possibly taverneri.
