Glossy Ibis is accidental in Arizona. The first photographic record of the species in AZ was of a bird found near Arlington by Roy Jones on May 19, 2001. At least one other sight record is being evaluated by the Arizona Bird Committee. Last summer, a hybrid plegadis ibis was photographed at Willcox. The Glossy Ibis shown here was discovered at the Avra Valley WWTP west of Tucson on August 26, 2005 by Mark Stevenson, Molly Pollock and Peter Salomon.
