AZFO provides up to two $1,000 grants each year to qualified applicants. We named this grant program in honor of Gale Monson, naturalist and father of ornithology in Arizona.  These grants provide financial support for conducting field research that will advance our knowledge of Arizona birdlife.  Applications are evaluated by our grants committee, and the selected grant recipients present reports on their research each year at our annual meetings.
