Meet Our AZFO Board & Committee Chairs

Tice Supplee
AZFO President
Tice has completed two careers. One with Arizona Game and Fish Department and the
second with National Audubon Society. Tice has co-managed the Arizona Important
Bird Areas program with Jennie MacFarland since 2005. She remains involved with bird
conservation and is an active member of Sonoran Audubon Society.

Diana Herron
AZFO Treasurer and Membership Secretary
Diana began her long birding career in Southern California and has been a resident of Arizona since the early 1990s. She became the Treasurer of AZFO in 2018 and assumed the duties of Membership Secretary in 2023. Diana enjoys working with numbers and spreadsheets and keeping the organization's financial house in order.

Chris McCreedy
AZFO Board Member
Chris serves as the American Bird Conservancy's Southwest Riparian Bird Recovery Coordinator. He led Point Blue Conservation Science's desert program for many years, and he is a research associate at Point Blue.

Tracy McCarthey
AZFO Expeditions Committee Member
Tracy has been involved in the Arizona Breeding Bird Atlas, the SW Willow Flycatcher research project, the Pinyon Jay monitoring program, and more. Tracy now works with avian monitoring at the AZGFD.

Scott Olmstead
AZFO Vice President
Scott Olmstead is a high school Spanish teacher who is always birding in the background. His endless list of birding-related side projects include tour leading, sound recording, photography, eBird review, and studying the local Great Horned Owl population in Tucson.

Tabitha Wasilio
AZFO Recording Secretary
Tabitha grew up in Arizona and found her love of birding in 2019. Since then, she’s spent much of her free time exploring local habitats, learning species by sight and sound, and connecting with the birding community. She serves as the Recording Secretary for the Arizona Field Ornithologists.

Jennie MacFarland
AZFO Board Member
As the Director of Bird Conservation for the Tucson Bird Alliance, Jennie MacFarland coordinates the Arizona Important Bird Areas Program and the Tucson Bird Count, an urban bird count with a Reconciliation Ecology purpose. Having adopted Tucson as her home town, Jennie has lived in southern Arizona for nearly 20 years and loves the varied habitats and birds of the region.

Chrissy Kondrat
AZFO AZGFD Liaison
Chrissy serves as a biologist with the Arizona Game & Fish Department and provides networking with researchers and other ornithologist professionals to benefit the mission of AZFO. She assists on the website committee and other administrative tasks for the organization

Kerrie Anne Lloyd
AZFO Youth Scholarship Chair
Kerrie Anne Loyd teaches biology and ecology for Arizona State University and has been studying urban Burrowing Owls in Lake Havasu City for the past 6 years. She previously studied domestic cat impact on native wildlife and continues to be involved in this issue as an advocate on behalf of songbirds. Kerrie Anne studied wildlife biology as an undergraduate at Virginia Tech and graduate student at the University of Georgia. She moved to Arizona in 2012 and loves exploring our beautiful and diverse state.

Doug Jenness
AZFO Board Member, Editor - Arizona Birds Journal
Doug moved to Arizona in 2002 and helped found AZFO. He has served on the organization’s elected leadership body, the Board of Directors, since its founding and was elected treasurer at the first annual membership meeting. After nine years in that position, he became editor of Arizona Birds in 2016, the position he currently holds. For the past decade he has been conducting field research on the Crested Caracara in Arizona. In 2022, he received the AZFO’s Achievement Award.

AZFO Board Member
Bill brings a lifetime of experience in understanding birds and their habitats, in addition to four decades of natural resources management to our organization. Recently, Bill has been working with habitat programs along the Santa Cruz River.

Edwin is a liaison with the AZGFD and coordinates networking with many AZ ornithological organizations.
