The Arizona Rare Bird Outlook & Summary is an AZFO monthly series exploring rare-bird occurrence in Arizona from two complementary perspectives.

Each month's Arizona Rare Bird Outlook looks ahead, using Arizona Bird Committee records, eBird, North American Birds, other historical sources, and field knowledge to identify seasonal patterns, habitats, conditions, and search strategies that may help birders find rare and unusual birds. The Arizona Rare Bird Summary looks back at what actually occurred, highlighting notable records, broader patterns, and what the month's observations can teach us about rare-bird occurrence in Arizona.

Together, the Outlook and Summary create a continuing cycle of anticipation, observation, and interpretation.
